Reiki

We are all comprised of of energy. Plants, animals, insects and humans all contain energy which is needed to grow and function. We commonly say “I am really lacking energy today" or "I don't have any energy today." We eat food to fuel and energize us. We sleep and rest to conserve energy and replenish it.

Intense stress, every day stress, grief, emotional, mental and physical abuse can "zap" our energy and it is noticeable to each and every one of us in various ways. We may feel the need to sleep more, cry, yell, vent, retreat, consume alcohol or other substances, etc. to try and deal with whatever it is that we are facing. Sometimes you just have to do one of those things and you feel better. Often times, none of those things work and there is an underlying current of emotion that you have simply stuffed. When another hurt, stressor, trigger, etc. comes your way, your response is more intense until you feel like you simply can't cope any longer. Your energy is depleted and you have no more left in reserve. Not only is this uncomfortable emotionally but it can also cause physical illness. This is where Reiki comes in!

Reiki is a non-invasive, Japanese technique for stress and relaxation. By utilizing this technique, a Practitioner is able to channel this universal stream of energy so that the recipient can receive a boost to help restore and replenish their depleted reservoirs. By filling up your tank you are better able to interact with those around you, deal with life and feel more calm and peace within. When you are more calm and peaceful then you are better able to carry out your purpose with ease and grace.

Reiki is implemented by the practitioner gently laying her hands on, or above, various places of the recipient’s fully clothed body. When you arrive, Brandy will take approximately 10 minutes to discuss what you hope to achieve with Reiki and then proceed to your 60 minute Reiki session. She will spend an additional 10-15 minutes afterward to discuss your experience, address any questions you may have and make recommendations on what you can do at home to support the work you did during your time together.

Brandy has a lovely healing space that is conducive to having a quiet, peaceful experience. Reiki is such a calming experience that many people even drift off to sleep during their session. After a session the client feels rested, peaceful and ready to continue on with life in a rejuvenated way.

*Please note that sessions given during labor may vary depending on the amount of support needed/desired.

Infant and Children's Reiki

The journey of birth and the days and months that follow can be physically, mentally and emotionally taxing on a baby. Whether a baby's birth is peaceful and gentle or speedy and traumatic, a child can experience fear, loss, a sense of detachment, and the list goes on. This can leave baby with a myriad of issues that may be unpleasant both for him or her and for the entire family.

Some babies also experience feelings associated with being apart from their parents whether during date night, sleeping, a mother returning to work, etc. Reiki can help ease some of the anxiety and upset that tends to come during those times.

Some of the additional benefits a baby may experience with Reiki are:

  • Longer, more restful sleep

  • Ease of colic or other intestinal discomfort

  • Eases the discomfort associated with teething

  • Assistance in the recovery of a cold or other minor illness

Children also greatly benefit from Reiki. Whether they are experiencing a mental or physical growth spurt, a new move, school anxiety or friendship issues, this gentle experience can help soothe frustration, anger, anxiety, fear, etc. and bring about a sense of balance and peace.
